Enter The Nexus: Part 1-What is a Nexus
A few days ago I gave my opinions about Blackberry and their possible come back, but today I am going to talk about Android. When I say Android in relation to phones and tablets any number of devices likely came to mind the Galaxy s3, the HTC One X, or any of the slew of phones touting the “DROID” name. While all of these phones hold their place in the smartphone market, Google has decided to take a surprisingly different and unorthodox approach to carving out its own chunk of the ever-growing smartphone market.

Blackberry 10 or Palm All Over Again?
After some time off from Is Horrible, I have been asked a lot lately about my thoughts on Blackberry 10. So I decided to put some of my opinions down to keep from having to repeat them.
You’re welcome.
Blackberries used to be the iPhone of their day. At first only the élite and the dedicated had them. Slowly the costs came down, and then everyone just had to own one. Much like their former rival Palm, RIM fell into a routine that became harder and harder to break that put them into a similar situation. For RIM — now corporately called Blackberry like their phones — the story of Palm is a cautionary tale of what may be to come.

Quick Review: End of Watch
**Firstly I want to announce the return of yourmovieishorrible. We’re back and gearing up for action. Now there are going to be 4 segments of YMIH. Full Reviews, Quick Reviews, Trailer Reviews, and a new segment called Movie in a Tweetsworth, but more on all of that later.**
So now time for a Quick Review. This week, “End of Watch,” 100 words to review it, starting….NOW.
David Ayer, the “Police Film” writer/director, didn’t sell me on the whole “found footage cop drama” but the movie ended up being decent.
- The “cinematography” felt uninspired and unrealistic, and downright unnecessary.
- The acting and chemistry between the main characters was really well done.
- The plot was decent, it stuck to pseduo-”realism,” (two cops fighting local gangs, no giant drug-cartel conspiracy).
- There were some “police movie tropes” but nothing TOO bad.
- A few plot points made absolutely no sense, and some relationships were only there to “up the stakes.”
- The movie really shines in the humanity of the main characters in their dialogue and relationship.
Verdict: Wait until you catch it on TV next year, no hurry. You don’t have to shell out money to see it in theaters, just wait. It’s far from a waste of time, but also far from a priority.
7.5/10
